These Worker Terms apply to all workers using the Disco platform. By creating a worker account or using Disco, you agree to these terms.
1. About Disco
Disco is a hospitality staffing marketplace that allows workers to discover and apply for flexible hospitality shifts posted by operators and venues.
Disco provides technology and marketplace tools only.
2. Worker Status
Workers using Disco are not employees of Disco.
Disco does not:
- Employ workers
- Guarantee work opportunities
- Manage payroll
- Provide pensions
- Deduct taxes
- Supervise workers on shift
Any working relationship is between the worker and the operator or venue directly.
3. Eligibility
To use Disco as a worker, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
- Provide accurate information
- Use the platform lawfully
4. Worker Responsibilities
Workers are responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate profile information
- Applying only for shifts they genuinely intend to work
- Arriving on time for accepted shifts
- Maintaining professional conduct
- Communicating professionally with operators
- Complying with venue policies and workplace rules
5. Right to Work
Workers are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Operators may request documentation or verification before confirming shifts.
6. Shift Applications
Workers may browse and apply for available shifts through Disco.
Applying for a shift does not guarantee acceptance or booking.
Operators are solely responsible for deciding whom to book.
7. Accepted Shifts
Once a worker accepts or confirms a shift, they are expected to attend unless prevented by genuine emergencies or unavoidable circumstances.
Frequent cancellations, no-shows, or unreliable conduct may result in:
- Reduced visibility on the platform
- Lower reliability metrics
- Account suspension or removal
8. Payments
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Disco does not process worker payments.
Payment arrangements are made directly between workers and operators.
Disco is not responsible for:
- Unpaid wages
- Late payments
- Tax deductions
- Payroll administration
- Holiday pay disputes
9. Taxes and Financial Responsibilities
Workers are responsible for managing their own taxes and financial obligations where applicable by law.
Disco does not provide tax advice.
10. Worker Profiles and Ratings
Disco may display:
- Reliability scores
- Activity history
- Skills and experience
- Application activity
These features are intended to improve marketplace trust and matching quality.
Disco reserves the right to modify or remove profile features at any time.
11. Prohibited Conduct
Workers must not:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another individual
- Harass or discriminate against others
- Attempt to damage or exploit the platform
- Use Disco for unlawful activity
- Share offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content
12. Suspension and Removal
Disco may suspend or terminate worker accounts where users:
- Violate these terms
- Engage in unsafe or abusive conduct
- Repeatedly fail to attend confirmed shifts
- Create legal or safety risks for the platform or operators
13. Health and Safety
Operators are responsible for providing safe workplaces and complying with relevant health and safety laws.
Workers should immediately report unsafe conditions to the operator or relevant authorities where appropriate.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Disco shall not be liable for:
- Loss of earnings
- Shift cancellations
- Workplace disputes
- Operator conduct
- Injuries arising during shifts
- Indirect or consequential losses
Use of the platform is at the worker’s own risk.
15. Privacy
Use of Disco is also governed by the Disco Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to These Terms
Disco may update these Worker Terms periodically.
Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
